The Big Apple Tour

Report from “The Big Apple Tour” with Tech Data.
31 mars - 4 april 2011
Tech Data, “multisupported” by Microsoft & HP, stroke on the big drum for an exciting and interesting trip to New York last week. The event was an indirect consequence of Itera Networks beating our productbudget for 2010 by a wide margin.
Loyally, supportively & voluntary represented by undersigned..

Mia Norrby, HP Software Marketing Manager, Marketing & Communications at TD Tech Data had coordinated and composed a solid program with both business & leisure.
HP introduced all their new battleships for the PC and server market together with their new operating system “Web OS”, which suppose to be one of their initiatives and a sharp weapon in the fight against Apple's new "Power Position". “Web Os” is a framework for Multi device Integration & communications, providing wireless charging and personal "Tagging" functionality for all our different platforms, both privately and professionally. http://www.palm.com/us/products/pads/touchpad/index.html
HP also played a big blow for the “Care Pack” sales which is a strategic margin enhancer and service guarantee booster, which frequently are added in conjunction with Hardware purchase. More new "iPad killer" is also in the pipeline in collaboration with Microsoft OEM solutions, which Christopher Frisell, OEM Sales and Marketing Manager dedicated, declared.

Tech Data's Swedish General Manager Michael Kristiansson & team described their Global business and talked about further expansion of their high efficient distribution Hub in Jordbro, south of Stockholm. Mathias Persson from HP also initiated the Roadmap for Storage solutions from HP.
Intense and interesting discussions on market trends were also executed frequently between sessions.
In addition to the well designed Info schedule and presentations, we were also visited some really nice restaurants with both Mexican and Asian theme, together with some prerequisite Night Clubbing.  All topped with some selected leisure activities as a visit to NHL hockey and Baseball at the New York Yankees new "Temple" arena in the Bronx, just north about a "neo commercialized" Harlem.
There was also some spare time for shopping, "City slicking" and recreation in a sunny New York covering mandatory staging posts like Time Square, Central Park and 5th avenue..
The trip ended on Sunday with brunch and shopping in Greenwich Village just around the cozy blocks of Soho.

And as icing on the cake, we had a spectacular trans-fare via helicopter to the airport in New Wark, with an impressive view of New York from a clear blue sky.

The schedule was tight and was only forced once by “Elton John”, with his Entourage, who in celebrity mannerisms brushed past our company on the helicopter pad.

Home again on Monday morning, directly to the office from the airport, quite "Jetlagged" but incredibly pleased ;D
